June 2010 would mark my 6 years of being in the promotional products industry. Time really does fly if you are enjoying yourself. I have really fallen madly in love with this industry.
The best part for me is being able to help out other people with each of their companies concern, be it employee recognition, customer acquisition or sales promotions. People that eventually have turned out to be some of my closest friends.
Many people think that it is all about selling promotional products but in reality, what we offer is service, whatever the product might be would just be incidental. I offer solutions to their problems and saving them Time in the process. We all know that Time is a very, very rare and important commodity.
That reminds me of my favorite quote, “If you lose money, you can earn it again in time. But if you lose time, all the money in the world could not help you.”
Of all my clients, not even one would just do promotional products day in and day out. There are Marketing Managers, Sales Managers, Purchasing Manager, Business Owners, etc. Each would have other tasks and other responsibilities. I am to them their Personal Assistant for promotional merchandise.
I work with them from planning to delivery of their merchandise. From putting together product suggestions to visual presentations to making sure items are delivered in time for their events or project. Through this, they can focus more on their other tasks because they are sure that I would do my best to make sure their promotional requirements would always be taken care of.
I must admit, not every order is a walk in the park. I have my share of messed up orders. But I am always on top of everything. I always keep my clients informed of any problems and always have a ready solution or option. To be honest, majority of my regular clients are those that have had problems with their orders in the past.
“Why is that?” you might ask. We all know that something wrong would happen to orders some of the time, most often not within our control. For them, having been able to experience their order going wrong and having it resolved right away, they are now more than ever confident that I would be able to get the job done even if thing do go wrong.
