Businesses always give away promotional items all the time. businesses are supposed to sell products, not give them away! But , when done correctly, giving away promotional items can actually earn businesses money.
Promotional Products are cost-effective advertising agents. And to do this , businesses should let as many people as possible know that they are giving away free things like pens, key chains, post its etc etc.. . Promotions and giveaways can make money for the company in the end.
A lot of times car dealerships advertise the free items they are giving away in exchange for attending their special events. It may seem as if the restaurant is taking a loss, but in reality it has tied the sale of a beverage into promoting a new burger sandwich !
Having a contest is another way to make money by giving away free stuff. For example, if you want to increase business, you could try offering free gift certificates to the first 100 customers of the day. Customers need to be motivated to stand in line for the prize, many people are willing to stand in line for hours for these kinds of contests. If stores give away a few gift certificates to a handful of lucky winners, then it is possible that customers will spend significantly more than the amounts given away at the door. Even those who do not receive a gift certificates will probably still shop in the store! While it appears that stores are giving away free money, they are really convincing people to shop and spend money. These contests can make huge profit by attracting paying customers.
It is easy to make money on promotional products and giveaways. Then we could say that the secret is to make sure that your business is attracting enough customers to offset the cost of the promotion. Effective advertising is the key to maximizing the benefits of promotional giveaways as a tool to make money.
